Taking the High Road
The idea of taking the "high road" is one that goes back to my childhood, excellent advice from my dad, very much a humanitarian, whose commitment to leave people and situations better than we find them was central to the whole of his thinking and actions.
High Road Collaboration
A Thesaurus search of collaboration takes us to such words as teamwork, partnership, group effort, association, alliance, relationship and cooperation. When teamwork isn't working for the team, and/or for any of the individuals, High Road Collaboration can help.
Mediation implies connections, focused initiatives to bring people together. Challenging situations are frequently the impetus for such interactions.
Throughout my professional and personal life I have been pleased and honored to be invited to help others identify solutions. My initial attempts at bringing people together, though somewhat informal and organic, were nonetheless successful. With more and more invitations to support and guide people through tough terrain, I sought out formal training which I have applied formally in arts circles, college and university settings, and to initiatives and work in domestic and international diversity. Artists can be wonderfully particular, and academics so well trained in putting forward agendas, that the opportunities for mediation throughout my career have been rich and varied. The work we have accomplished together has been fruitful and productive.

I find it helpful to begin conversations with consideration of shared values, and with an agreement to treat each other with civility and respect; these initial shared goals of honor and integrity lead directly to high road collaborations.
I look forward to collaborating with you on the same road described and mapped out by my dad - the HIGH ROAD!
